I too am looking forward to Ink & Flame and currently cramming Write for Love, Write for Money to learn about Substack. I feel a little out of my depth but have a Beth Kempton-shaped rubber ring to hopefully keep me afloat! I am looking forward to seeing where this all ends up.
As the new year begins, I'm setting two key writing goals: launching a Substack and reigniting my novel-writing project (my first). Writing has always been a source of immense joy and confidence, but lately, my momentum has stalled, and my inspiration has dimmed. I hope my Substack will not only serve as a platform for my own creative expression but also become a vibrant community where I can connect with other writers, learn from diverse perspectives, and find the tangible support I need to continue my writing journey.
As a part of my renewed commitment to "me the writer", I am seriously considering joining Ink+Flame, though I'm unsure if the content will be relevant to a writer of fiction, particularly horror, like myself.
Thank you, Beth, for all you do for this community.
I’m so glad I became frustrated with other forms of social media and landed here. I have not broken up with Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn or Instagram, but I have found this space as far more supportive of writers and that’s a happy place for me!
I'm not sure how I stumbled upon you, Beth (the Substack Gods at work?), but I'm thrilled that I did. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and encouragement. Although I adore everything you shared (Fizz!), I was especially encouraged by this: "Do your best for the subscribers you do have, instead of getting caught up on those you don’t have.
Know this: The single best thing you can do for your Substack is to offer the best work you can at this point in time. With every essay you write you will become a better writer."
YES!
Now, excuse me while I make myself a cup of tea in your honor. Sending many blessings from the other side of the pond.
Thank you, Beth. Again, I am so glad I found you. I only started a Substack because of you and I've done nothing with it. I used to have a Blogspot and then my own blog, many moons ago. I lost everything on my blog after it was hacked, years of stories and thoughts. I never started it up again as it was too soul-destroying to even think of the loss. I forgot how much I absolutely loved to pour my thoughts and feelings into a blog, and so, I will begin again today. The inspiration I have received from your content, your course, and SoulStack... from YOU, is beyond words. Thank you. x
Thank you, Beth! This was so encouraging to me, a fairly-new-to-Substack writer who is trying to figure out how to use it while feeling that I already love it deeply.
I dont know why, but it has taken me several goes to finally click on the tab and read through this essay! Maybe I knew it contained more of the gems I needed to encourage me on the Substack journey, and halfway through I felt so inspired I signed up for Ink and Flame! Thank you for creating this community Beth. I always feel understood and supported when I read your work, and work through the exercises you create both in your books, on your courses, and in your Journal notes. I still have a few more demons to slay before I get where I would really like to be in my writing life...but I no longer feel like I'm slaying them alone!! Bless you, Beth and thank you
I have literally just joined Substack today - it sounds as though it's exactly what I've been looking for. I am still working out how everything works but I am hoping it's the first step on a new journey!
I recently moved 10 miles away, from what I thought was my forever home. As I sit here sipping a cup of Earl Grey tea, I realize I do want to do Substack. I adore your books, Beth! Your honesty is soothing like a warm embrace. Something, in my life always comes up to detour me. I just need to take the leap. Thank you, Beth for this nudge! You always offer generous advice which helps me diffuse doubt that clouds my inner sky. I need to join! Thank you for a chance to win!
I love reading your reflection on joining substack. It does feel like a well of possibility. I just revamped mine and am so excited to see where it takes me this next year.
I love everything you mentioned, Beth. Thanks for sharing.
I would LOVE to take Ink and Flame. Perhaps the next time it's offered!

Hello Beth, I just found you. A real gift indeed ~ I look forward to learning more
I will consider joining the writing group perhaps next round.
Thank you for being here, I feel the soulful rise in me.

Sounds like you are ready. Why not go for it? It’s a lovely place and the most wonderful community Xx
Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I've loved following your journey, and your books too.
You've been an amazing source of inspiration, with your essays, and writing sanctuaries, not to mention the wonderful SoulCircle.
Thank you 💖🙏
Thank you for being here 🙏🏻❤️

Lovely advice. I am *almost* convinced to start my own actual Substack here. Thanks!
