The advice I ignored and surprising things I noticed in my first year on Substack (and what it has to do with doing what you love) + A GORGEOUS GIVEAWAY WORTH NEARLY £700!
Thank you, Beth. Again, I am so glad I found you. I only started a Substack because of you and I've done nothing with it. I used to have a Blogspot and then my own blog, many moons ago. I lost everything on my blog after it was hacked, years of stories and thoughts. I never started it up again as it was too soul-destroying to even think of the loss. I forgot how much I absolutely loved to pour my thoughts and feelings into a blog, and so, I will begin again today. The inspiration I have received from your content, your course, and SoulStack... from YOU, is beyond words. Thank you. x
Thank you, Beth! This was so encouraging to me, a fairly-new-to-Substack writer who is trying to figure out how to use it while feeling that I already love it deeply.
I dont know why, but it has taken me several goes to finally click on the tab and read through this essay! Maybe I knew it contained more of the gems I needed to encourage me on the Substack journey, and halfway through I felt so inspired I signed up for Ink and Flame! Thank you for creating this community Beth. I always feel understood and supported when I read your work, and work through the exercises you create both in your books, on your courses, and in your Journal notes. I still have a few more demons to slay before I get where I would really like to be in my writing life...but I no longer feel like I'm slaying them alone!! Bless you, Beth and thank you
I have literally just joined Substack today - it sounds as though it's exactly what I've been looking for. I am still working out how everything works but I am hoping it's the first step on a new journey!
I recently moved 10 miles away, from what I thought was my forever home. As I sit here sipping a cup of Earl Grey tea, I realize I do want to do Substack. I adore your books, Beth! Your honesty is soothing like a warm embrace. Something, in my life always comes up to detour me. I just need to take the leap. Thank you, Beth for this nudge! You always offer generous advice which helps me diffuse doubt that clouds my inner sky. I need to join! Thank you for a chance to win!
I love reading your reflection on joining substack. It does feel like a well of possibility. I just revamped mine and am so excited to see where it takes me this next year.
Thank you, Beth! I really enjoy reading everything you write on here, in addition to your books. I've been on Substack for almost eighteen months now and am still learning, but harbour a desire to create my own community. Your piece reassured me that I don't need to be cranking out content to a schedule, but just when the spirit takes me. I've restacked (I think!) and am keeping my fingers crossed.
You absolutely don’t have to crank out content. If it needs cranking it’s neither right nor you ready, I’d say! Feel your way and you’ll be just fine ❤️
Beautiful as always. I enjoyed reading and following your Substack journey. I finally joined because of your enthusiasm for the platform—and so I thank you for that. I took your book writing course where you talked about it.
Beth, you've helped me find my voice. I started my substack after reading the way of the fearless writer. I love the community here and find being on Substack soothing. The way of the fearless writer taught me to write to honour the practice of writing and be patient and to stop clinging to expectations. Just trust the process. Thank you for writing ❤
Beth! Congratulations! I joined Substack a few months ago to continue reading a creator whose newsletter I subscribe to who was moving here. On that day I must have read something by you lovely Beth and subscribed to you too. I haven’t visited often but your click bait is so good and the content always a rewarding read. I appreciate you and the encouragement you offer to your lovely community. I write but I’m not a writer. That makes no sense at all. Thank you for the nudge, second one of the day from you. Maybe I’ll stop lurking on my phone and go figure out Substack from my desktop. Thank you Danielle for your not wacky helpful question
No click bait intended! Also you are a writer. Anyone who writes is a writer. Anyone who takes what is in their head and heart and puts it on the page is a writer. No other qualifications needed ❤️
I’m so glad you ignored all the advice because what you’ve created here is beautiful. We’re always “should-ing” all over ourselves which creates so much pressure and judgement. I want to be led by purpose and possibility. ✨
Thank you for introducing me to Substack. It’s such a cosy, inspiring corner of the internet and I’ve met some beautiful humans here too! 🙏🏻
Excited to be joining you for Ink + Flame. After a challenging year, I’m ready to alchemise old stories into healing, ignore my creativity again in this new season of mamahood and answer my calling as a writer! 🔥

Sounds like you are ready. Why not go for it? It’s a lovely place and the most wonderful community Xx
Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I've loved following your journey, and your books too.
You've been an amazing source of inspiration, with your essays, and writing sanctuaries, not to mention the wonderful SoulCircle.
Thank you 💖🙏
Thank you for being here 🙏🏻❤️

That is everything❤️ So glad. Keep going my friend ✍️
Looking back to see when I joined Substack I saw that it was exactly six months ago. The restacking became a celebration note.
Oh I love that! Happy half anniversary! Xx
